E. lodge, Fellsmere, recently appointed by the Governor as County Commissioner, <br />District No. 29 appeared in person and presented his bond as such Commissioner, in the <br />sum of $2,000.00, as provided by law, with the National Surety Corporation, a corporation, <br />as :surety, which was approved by, this Board. <br />The Clerk announced the Board of Administration had forwarded to his office copies <br />of the several bids submitted for the sale of bonds of the Coau-ity in complicanee with th <br />resolution of this Board to avail themselves of the Kanner Bill of the 1933 Legislature, <br />e <br />and same were read and carefully considered. <br />The following resolution was introduced by Commissioner Helseth, and he moved its <br />adoption: <br />r;REAS, the Board of Administration has submitted certain proposals to sell to sai <br />Board of Administration bonds of the County of Indian River, under the provisions of <br />House Bill No. 309 of the 1933, session of the Legislature, and, <br />WHEREAS, after carefully considering all of such proposals, and considering the <br />amount offunds on hand with said Board of Administration, and taking into consideration <br />all conditions <br />as <br />now <br />exist, it <br />is <br />deemed advisable to reject <br />all bids, with the excep- <br />tion of a part <br />of <br />the <br />proposal <br />of <br />the First National Trust & <br />Savings Bank, Port Huron, <br />Hi chigan; <br />THERMPLIRE be it resolved that the Board of Administration be requested to purchase <br />said Bank, the following bonds of Special Road & Bridge District No. 1, at a price of <br />34 flat: Two of a total of five of such bonds of said District. <br />Upon being pur to a vote the same was unanimously adopted. <br />The Clerk was instructed to notify F. Earl DeLoe and W. H. Garm.s, that the Board <br />will further consider the construction of a Court House on -October 3rd, and each of the: <br />gentlemen are invited to be present at that time and have such plans, specifications and <br />proposals, with the distinct understanding the County assumes no obligation by reason <br />of this invitation. <br />It was ordered Mrs Sallie Roberson be stricken from the pauper list, it appearing <br />she has removed beyond the limits of the County. <br />Troy E. Doody, Tax Collector, appeared before the Board regarding the collection <br />personal property taxes on the 1932 tax roll. He advised that the State Comgtroller <br />requested that personal property tax be collected and requested that the Board lend its <br />assistance to this end and furnish legal assistance if necessary. After considerable <br />discussion, it was moved, seconded and carried that the Tax Collector make a drive to <br />collect personal property taxes and if suit is filed the County .Attorney is directed to <br />assist the Tax Collector for a fee of $75.00 if one suit is filed or $100.00 if two <br />suits are filed, and if carried to the State 'Supreme Court a fee of $100.00 additional <br />will be paid. The Commissioners voting in favor of the motion being Com'rs Kni4ht and <br />Yongue.
