CONSENSUS was reached that Chairman Macht <br />would chair a meeting for the purpose of <br />designating Channel 13 as the emergency <br />channel for Indian River County, together with <br />the designation of an emergency radio station. <br />ANGLE TRAIL DESIGNATION AS HISTORIC TRAIL <br />Commissioner Adams announced that she had received a telephone <br />call from Ruth Stanbridge who advised that the Governor's <br />Conference on Tourism will be announcing shortly that Jungle Trail <br />will be designated as a historic trail. <br />UTILM ES DEPARTMENT ACCESS AND PARKING <br />Commissioner Bird requested an update on the Utilities <br />Department access and parking, and County Administrator Chandler <br />responded that an office adjacent to the mail room is being <br />prepared and consideration is being given to permitting short-term <br />parking in the circle drive. <br />Director Pinto stated that the major concern is not paying the <br />bills but filling out applications or taking care of a problem with <br />the bill. <br />William Roolage, a concerned citizen, felt there is plenty of <br />room at the new Courthouse and encouraged the Commissioners to look <br />at that space. <br />Commissioner Adams believed there would be problems with <br />access such as parking and walking across the street. <br />Commissioner Bird felt that people would not want to go <br />through a security checkpoint just to pay a utility bill. <br />CONSENSUS was reached to direct staff to <br />further investigate the problem and bring some <br />recommendations to the next meeting regarding <br />drive -up payment arrangements for the <br />Utilities Department. <br />EXPORT CONFERENCE <br />Commissioner Eggert announced that Congressman Dave Weldon <br />will host an Export Conference and Workshop on August 28, 1995 at <br />the Brevard County Government Complex in Melbourne. <br />AUGUST 15, 1995 25 mof 95 onf.
