'F;1tHi+ *, rt •f��. 1 r.'i�.t':?�"''4t K.r <br />RZOOLDTIA NO. <br />WHEREAS, at the next ensuing general election to be held November 6, 1962, <br />there will be submitted to the electorate of the State of Florida a proposal to <br />amend the Constitution to this State by incorporating herein a new plan of <br />representation in the State Legislature; and <br />WHEREAS, the proposal to amend the Florida Constitution makes provision for a <br />single senator to represent a senatorial district to be comprised solely of Indian <br />River County, thereby assuring Indian River County of continuous representation in <br />the State Senate by a senator elected from the residents of Indian River County, in <br />lieu of sharing such representation with senators elected from the two other counties, <br />Martin and St. Lucie, as is now provided by law; and <br />NAEEMs it appears to this body that the benefits to accrue to Indian River <br />County by reason of the adoption of the proposed constitutional amendment are so <br />obvious that it is incumbent upon this body to do all within its power to influence <br />the electors of Indian River County, Florida, to participate in the general election <br />to be held November 6, 1962, and to cast an affirmative vote for the proposed <br />constitutional amendment, <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the County Commissioners of the County of <br />Indian River, City of Vero Beach, Florida, in regular session assembled do hereby <br />endorse the proposed reapportionment constitutional amendment, and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that each elector residing in Indian River County, <br />$taps of Floridai be mud he is hereby respectfully requested to participate in the next <br />giwral Slection and to cast his ballot in favor of the new plan of apportioning <br />repteseVAtion in the Ctaate Legislature, which new plan substantially doubles voting <br />Stgagg h of the legislatlwe representation from Indian River County. <br />i <br />74 <br />Rif <br />y w' <br />r <br />N3, ..r f1 i�) t .1? h aS•,' R`IA„fp ? c �..,. �. k` � ' . p,t r�. ; }�' <br />:! �)s �,�»+ .. 9 ,2Ri:lf•” � Mi i,,.*�y��- i�t{ f� �r� 1l �{n� y t �a .�.�.. <br />
