El <br />L] <br />/- 7 -6-3 <br />RESOLIYPION j,' -/ <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County, a political subdivision of <br />the State of Florida, has for the past several months been acquir- <br />ing right of way for the construction of Florida State Road A -1--A <br />between the unincorporated community of Wabasso and the north <br />boundary line of said county, all of which right Of way is situ- <br />ated east of the Indian River in said county, and, <br />WHEREAS, a large number of landowners along the proposed <br />route of said Florida State Road A -l -A have donated right of way <br />which, if condemned or purchased, would have cost Indian River <br />County a great sum of money and would have delayed or prohibited <br />the construction of said road and the bridge across Sebastian <br />Inlet, and, <br />WHEREAS, the construction of Florida State Road A -l -A in <br />the place aforesaid and the construction of the bridge across the <br />Sebastian Inlet will provide great benefits to the POOPle Of Indian <br />River and Brevard Counties, in particular, and to the citizens of <br />and visitors to the State of Florida, in general, and, <br />WHEREAS, some of those landowners who contributed such <br />right of way will be required to purchase from the Trustees Of the <br />Internal improvement Fund of the State of Florida bottom lands or <br />submerged lands lying west of the right of way of said road, <br />NOW, THEREFORE: <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Indian <br />River County, Florida, that said Board respectfully request the <br />Trustees of the Internal Improvement Fund of the State of Florida <br />to give due consideration to the above and foregoing facts when <br />such landowners seek to purchase bottom I -ands or submerged lands <br />in the area described above and that, to the extent allowed by law, <br />such landowners be permitted to purchase such bottom lands and <br />submerged lands at the lowest possible prices. <br />
