PES29—AWT LMN <br />WHEREAS, Mrs. Alice Helleso retired on the thirteenth day of <br />October, nineteen hundred and sixty-four as Supervisor of Nurses of <br />the Indian River County Public Health Department, after having served <br />continuously in various phases of welfare and public health activities <br />for more than twenty-eight years; and <br />WHEREAS, the was instrumental in the establishment of various <br />services in Indian River County, such as the first loan closet, the <br />first register of services to physicians,aalshe was also interested <br />in the first school for retarded children, the county rehabilitation <br />center and the adoption of physical therapy, the teaching of home <br />economics in the county public schools and the observation of "health <br />week•; and <br />WHEREAS, during her years of service, she constantly aided and <br />co-operated with the local Medical Association, the Board of Public <br />Instruction, the Mental Health Workshop, the Tuberculosis and Health <br />Association, the Women's club, the United Church Women, the Business <br />and Professional Women's Club, the Junior Women's Club, the Pilot Club, <br />the Exchange Club, the Kiwanis Club, the Lions Club, the Rotary Club, <br />the American Legion, the American Red Cross and many other organizations <br />in the furtherance of public health; Now therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED, that the Indian River Board Of County Commissioners, <br />assembled in regular session, does hereby unanimously commend Mrs. <br />Helleso on her countless valuable services to the community, and on <br />behalf of the inhabitants of this county, extends to her their expression <br />of sincere appreciation for her many accomplishments in the field of <br />public health; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be incorporated in <br />the minutes of said Board and that a copy be sent to Mrs. Helleso, <br />the Florida State Board of Health, and the Indian River county Health <br />Department. <br />
