September 6, 1995 <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />f <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />Florida, met in Special Session in County Commission Chambers, 1840 <br />25th Street, Vero Beach, Florida, on Wednesday, September 6, 1995, <br />at 5:01 p.m. Present were Fran B. Adams, Vice Chairman; Richard N. <br />Bird; Carolyn K. Eggert; and John W. Tippin. Also present were <br />James E. Chandler, County Administrator; Charles P. Vitunac, County <br />.Attorney; and P. J. Jones, Deputy Clerk. <br />Chairman Kenneth R. Macht was absent from the meeting due to <br />the death of his wife, Irene. <br />Vice Chairman Adams called the meeting to order and led the <br />Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />PRELIlM[INARY BUDGET HEARING - EY 1995-1996 <br />County Attorney Charles Vitunac announced that formal notice <br />of the meeting was given through the mailing of the Truth in <br />Millage (TRIM) Notice and the Notice of Non -Ad Valorem assessments <br />for 1995 to all Indian River County takpayers. <br />Vice Chairman Adams announced that this is the first of two <br />public hearings to consider the proposed budget for Fiscal Year <br />1995/96, and that County Administrator Jim Chandler would present <br />an overview of the proposed budget. <br />Administrator Chandler stated that after a brief overview of <br />the overall budget he would address each individual fund and he <br />recommended the Board follow the procedures outlined on the agenda <br />for the individual funds. <br />Vice Chairman Adams announced that it was the CONSENSUS of the <br />Board- to follow the procedures to conduct hearings on ad valorem <br />taxing districts as recommended by the County Administrator. <br />1 <br />boof 95 mul <br />SEPTEMBER 6, 1995 <br />
