MUNICIPAL SERVICE TAXING UNIT (Af.S.T.U.) <br />Administrator Chandler announced that the Municipal Service <br />Taxing Unit millage as reflected on TRIM notices is 1.6236 which is <br />7.01% above the rollback millage of 1.5173. The proposed M.S.T.U. <br />budget is $14,140,259 which is an increase of $1,139,847 over the <br />current budget of $13,000,412. Administrator Chandler advised that <br />almost 85% of the increase in this fund is confined to 2 areas; a <br />transfer to the General Fund for law enforcement and a transfer to <br />the Transportation Fund for the road and bridge department. <br />The Vice Chairman opened the public hearing on the M.S.T.U. <br />and asked if anyone wished to be heard in this matter. There being <br />none the Vice Chairman thereupon closed the public hearing. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously, by a 4-0 <br />vote (Chairman Macht being absent), approved the <br />tentative millage rate of 1.6236 for the Municipal <br />Service Taxing Unit for Fiscal Year 1995/96. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously, by a 4-0 <br />vote (Chairman Macht being absent), approved the <br />tentative budget of $14,140,259 for the Municipal <br />Service Taxing Unit for Fiscal Year 1995/96. <br />TRANSPORTATION FUND <br />Administrator Chandler announced that there is no millage for <br />the Transportation Fund and that the proposed budget is $9,376,511 <br />which is an increase of $743,878 over the current budget of <br />$8,632,633. Administrator Chandler explained that 66% of the <br />Transportation Fund revenue is derived from the General Fund and <br />M.S.T.U. The areas comprising most of the 62% total increase are <br />materials cost, salary reserve and vehicle replacements. The <br />Transportation Fund includes the Public Works, Engineering, <br />Traffic, and Road and Bridge Departments. No additional positions <br />are proposed. <br />The Vice Chairman opened the public hearing on the <br />Transportation Fund and asked if anyone wished to be heard in this <br />matter. <br />3 Q Fao® <br />SEPTEMBER 6, 1995 <br />
