13h <br />101Dlu [o] 11710 Diu � <br />TO: Board of County Commissioners <br />FROM: Dylan Reingold, County Attorney <br />DATE: November 8, 2021 <br />SUBJECT: Indian River County Committees — Member Reappointments <br />BACKGROUND. <br />On September 13, 2011, the Board of County Commissioners adopted Resolution 2011-072, which appointed <br />the County Attorney's Office to monitor member terms of certain committees. <br />Specifically, the resolution requires that (1) on approximately October 15 of each year, the County Attorney's <br />Office shall contact all board appointed committee members whose terms will expire in the following January, <br />and determine whether those members want to be considered for reappointment, and (2) at the last Board <br />meeting in November of each year, the County Attorney's Office shall present to the Board a list of al <br />committee members requesting reappointment — at which time the Board will reappoint members from the <br />list as it deems appropriate. Thereafter, on approximately December 1 st of each year, a list of committee <br />vacancies will be created and posted on the County website, and the Board will make appointments to fill the <br />vacancies no later than the following January 15th. <br />The County Attorney's Office has contacted committee members whose term will expire in January 2022. <br />Attached to this memorandum is a list of those members who have requested reappointment. The Board should <br />now review the list and make such reappointments as it deems appropriate. <br />It should be noted that in addition to those committee members not seeking reappointment, there are many <br />existing vacancies. A list of the anticipated vacancies is attached for informational purposes. <br />27 <br />
