Division 1—General Requirements, IRC -2030 <br />SECTION 01541- PROTECTION OF THE WORK AND PROPERTY <br />1.1 GENERAL <br />A. CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for taking all precautions, providing all programs, and <br />taking all actions necessary to protect the Work and all public and private property and <br />facilities from damage as specified in the General Conditions and herein. <br />B. In order to prevent damage, injury or loss, CONTRACTOR'S actions shall include, but not <br />be limited to, the following: <br />1. Store apparatus, materials, supplies, and equipment in an orderly, safe manner that <br />will not unduly interfere with the progress of the Work or the Work of any other <br />Contractor or utility service company. <br />2. Provide suitable storage facilities for all materials, which are subject to injury by <br />exposure to weather, theft, breakage, or otherwise. <br />3. Place upon the Work or any part thereof, only such loads as are consistent with the <br />safety of that portion of the Work. <br />4. Clean up frequently all refuse, rubbish, scrap materials, and debris caused by <br />construction operations, so that at all times, the site of the Work presents a safe, <br />orderly, and workmanlike appearance. <br />5. Provide barricades and guard rails around openings, for scaffolding, for temporary <br />stairs and ramps, around excavations, elevated walkways and other hazardous <br />areas. <br />C. Except after written consent from proper parties, do not enter or occupy privately -owned <br />land with men, tools, materials or equipment, except on easements provided herein. <br />D. Assume full responsibility for the preservation of all public and private property or facility <br />on or adjacent to the site. If any direct or indirect damage is done by or on account of <br />any act, omission, neglect or misconduct in the execution of the Work by the <br />CONTRACTOR, it shall be restored by the CONTRACTOR, at its expense, to a condition <br />equal to or better than that existing before the damage was done. <br />1.2 BARRICADES AND WARNING SIGNALS <br />CONTRACTOR's responsibility for the maintenance of barricades, signs, lights, and for providing <br />watchmen shall continue until OWNER accepts the Project. <br />1.3 TREE AND PLANT PROTECTION <br />A. Protect existing trees, shrubs and plants on or adjacent to the site that are shown or <br />designated to remain in place against unnecessary cutting, breaking or skinning of trunk, <br />branches, bark or roots. <br />B.
