over pipe shall be done by machine. <br />C. Pipes routed across drives shall be sleeved in Schedule 40 PVC. Sleeves shall be <br />installed 24" below grade. <br />3.05 SPRINKLERS <br />A. All sprinklers shall be as specified on the drawings, or approved equal. Install 12" <br />from edge of paving or walls. <br />B. All sprinklers in lawn areas shall be installed on flex pipe. Shrub heads shall be on <br />PVC pipe. Sprinkler shall be tightly secured to risers to deter vandalism. <br />C. All sprinklers shall be set to finished grade. <br />3.06 COORDINATION <br />A. Irrigation Contractor shall. coordinate his work with Landscape and Paving <br />Contractors, so that no heads or lines conflict with other work. <br />B. Irrigation Contractor shall coordinate his work with Electrical Contractor to <br />provide proper hook-up of the pump station. he Electrical Contractor shall bring <br />power to the station and connect to the pump motor. Irrigation Contractor shall <br />refer to Division 16000 of the Specifications for information concerning electrical <br />work on site. <br />3.07 TESTING <br />Pipe lines, when tested under a pressure of 125 lbs. Per square inch, shall have NO <br />LEAKAGE ALLOWED. All visible leaks at exposed joints and all leaks evident at the <br />surface where joints are covered shall be repaired and leakage eliminated,regardless of <br />total. leakage as shown by test. Lines which fail to meet tests shall be repaired, and re- <br />tested as necessary until test requirements are complied with. Defective materials, pipes, <br />valves and accessories shall be removed and replaced. The pipe lines shall be tested in <br />such sections as may be directed by the Engineer by shutting gates or installing <br />temporary plugs as required. The line shall be filled with water and all air removed and a <br />pressure of 125 lbs. Per square inch shall be maintained in the pipe for a period of not <br />less than two (2) hours by means of a force pump to be furnished by the Contractor. <br />Accurate means shall be provided for measuring the water required to maintain this <br />pressure. The amount of water required is a measure of the leakage. <br />3.08 GUARANTEE <br />All parts, materials and labor shall be guaranteed for one (1) year beginning at final <br />acceptance of the project by the Owner. <br />***END OF SECTION*** <br />02500-5 <br />
