3.03 RE -USE OF FORMS <br />A. General: <br />1. Re -use of forms shall be subject to advance written approval of the Structural <br />Engineer or his designer. <br />B. Requirements: <br />1. Except as specifically approved in advance by the Structural Engineer, re -use <br />of forms shall in no way delay or change the schedule of placement of <br />concrete from the schedule obtainable if all form were new. <br />2. Except as specifically approved in advance by the Structural Engineer, re -use <br />of forms shall in no way impart less structural stability to the forms no less <br />acceptable appearance to finished exposed concrete. <br />3.04 REMOVAL OF FORMS <br />A. General: <br />1. Minimum periods to form removal after concrete placement shall be as <br />follows: <br />Slabs and curbs 24 hours <br />Vertical walls (4'-0" Ht.) 36 hours <br />Vertical walls (over 4'-0" Ht.) 7 days <br />2. Removal of formwork may be extended if deemed necessary by the Structural <br />Engineer. <br />B. Removal: <br />1. Remove metal spreader ties on exposed concrete by removing or snapping off <br />inside the wall surface and point up and rubbing the resulting pockets to <br />match the surrounding areas. <br />2. Flush all holes resulting from the use of spreader rods and sleeve nuts, using <br />water, and then solidly pack throughout the wall thickness with cement grout <br />applied under pressure by means of a grouting gun; grout shallbe one (1) part <br />Portland cement and two and one-half (2-1/2) parts sand; apply grout <br />immediately after removing forms. <br />***END OF SECTION*** <br />08 May 2014 <br />03100-3 <br />
