Board of County Commissioners Meeting Minutes - Final January 18, 2022 <br />E. Commissioner Laura Moss <br />14.E.1. 22-0045 Request for Approval to use County Commission Chambers for one-hour on <br />January 28, 2022 from 3:00 - 4:00 PM <br />Recommended Action: Approval by Board of County Commission <br />Attachments: Commissioner's Memorandum <br />Commissioner Moss presented her request to use the County Commission <br />Chambers for an one-hour educational presentation to school children from the <br />Boys and Girls Club. <br />Chairman O'Bryan inquired whether the Boys and Girls Club had paid the <br />required, prorated non-profit fee to utilize any of the County's public buildings. <br />Commissioner Moss questioned why it was necessary to collect a fee when the <br />presentation was for children. The Chairman explained why a nominal fee to <br />use County facilities was necessary, and admonished Commissioner Moss for <br />not following procedures. <br />Commissioner Adams clarified that the presentation was for the Boys and Girls <br />Club, a youth -based non-profit, and that all non-profit organizations were <br />subject to protocols when requesting use of government buildings. <br />Commissioner Moss ended discussion, and stated she was disappointed to learn <br />of the County's policy. <br />No Action Taken <br />15. SPECIAL DISTRICTS AND BOARDS <br />The Board of County Commissioners reconvened as the Board of Commissioners <br />of the Solid Waste Disposal District. The minutes will be approved at an <br />upcoming Solid Waste Disposal District meeting. <br />A. Emergency Services District <br />B. Solid Waste Disposal District <br />15.B.1. 22-0037 Approval of Minutes Meeting October 19, 2021 <br />Recommended Action: Approve <br />Attachments: 10192021 SWDD Draft <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Flescher, seconded by Commissioner <br />Adams, to approve the Solid Waste Disposal District Meeting Minutes of October <br />19, 2021 as written.
