On Motion by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner <br />MCCullers, t1le following Resolution was unanimously adopted: <br />11 RESOLUTION NO.67-28 <br />WHEREAS, The Pelican Island Audobon Society, Inc. , a Florida <br />corporation not for profit, has requested that the Board of County <br />• <br />Commissioners of Indian River County seek a dedication by the Trustees <br />of the Internal Inipwovement Mand of the State of Florida of certain lands <br />situated in Indian River County, Florida, encompassing the Pelican Island <br />National Wildlife Refuge insofar as the same does not conflict with the <br />established Bulkhead Line and, <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River <br />County lois determined that it is in the best interest of the public at large <br />to protect and preserve the Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge and, <br />WHEREAS, the dedication of some of the submerged bottoms of <br />the Indian River is essential to the protection and preservation of the Refuge. <br />Now therefore: <br />BE IT RESOLVED, By the Board of County Commissioners of <br />Indian River County, Florida, that this board requests the Regional Director, <br />Bureau of Sport Fisheries and Wildlife, Atlanta, Georgia, to make a <br />current determination of those Indian River bottomlands whose dedication <br />jj is essential to the protection and preservation of the Refuge, and provide <br />I' a current report and description to the board of sante. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a certified copy of this <br />Resolution be furnished to the Regional Director.
