He declared that the Board has granted concessions to out <br />of county developers to provide jobs for local people, which resulted in existing businesses <br />closing and the loss of jobs . Also out- of- county developers of affordable housing came <br />wanting more concessions . More low-paying j obs are not needed here , we need living- wage <br />jobs .Before offering any concessions to a developer, he wanted to know how many jobs <br />would be available for local people and at what wages . He felt the Board ' s lack of response <br />will cost the County more tax dollars . Now another developer is coming in asking for <br />Off <br />concessions with a promise to provide employment . When asked to be more specific , Mr . <br />Heady advised he was referring to the 20 jobs promised by Calpine . He also wanted to <br />know whether the jobs will be for current residents and what the salaries will be . He <br />stressed they should not be given concessions unless they promise jobs for local people . <br />Chairman Ginn did not know whether local people would have the ability to fill the <br />positions offered by Calpine , but Mr . Heady stressed that the Board does not know whether <br />or not there will be any jobs provided to local people nor what the salaries will be . <br />No action taken . <br />9 . C .1 e -3 .
