The County shares your vision
and commitment to protecting and improving water quality, particularly in the Indian River Lagoon (Lagoon).
We are requesting your support for two appropriations that further our efforts, in concert with the state, to protect
the health of the Lagoon.
First, we are requesting support for the Ixora Park Sewer Rehabilitation Project, which will replace vitrified clay
sewer pipes — reducing the potential for negative impacts to the Lagoon. Additionally, we request your support
for the Hobart Water Treatment Plant Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) System Upgrade. This
project will enable operators respond more quickly to service interruptions and reduce the frequency and duration
of negative environmental impacts. Both these projects expand on the County's efforts to minimize negative
environmental impacts to our citizens, visitors, businesses, and the Lagoon.
Finally, thank you for your own advocacy and actions in support of the County's environmental priorities co -
benefitting our and the state's economic success; the Board of County Commissioners would also like to thank
your office staff as their assistance throughout the legislative process has proven invaluable.
As we turn toward the 2023 Florida Legislative Session, we look forward to continued collaboration with your
office as we collectively strive to advocate for effective and efficient legislative policies benefiting our community
and protect the health, welfare, and safety of all Indian River County residents.
Thank you again for leadership and dedication.
reter
rely,
D.
