BOOK 6 PA.I 9 <br />PROCLAMATION <br />WHEREAS, the aging population is the fastest growing nationwide; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, families often have difficulty taking care of their <br />children, much less their elderly parents; and <br />WHEREAS, many seniors who live by themselves suffer acute lone- <br />liness as well as difficulty in food preparation and <br />taking medications as prescribed; and <br />WHEREAS, Adult Day Care Centers provide support to individuals and <br />families seeking to help a loved one remain happy, active <br />and safe - and living. at home for as long as possible; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Adult Day Care Centers encourage independent living with <br />a professional staff monitoring health and medication, <br />planned activities and daily nutritional needs; and <br />WHEREAS, the Indian River County Council on Aging operates the <br />only licensed Adult Day Care Center in Indian River <br />County: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED THAT THE INDIAN RIVER COUNTY BOARD <br />OF COUNTY COWaSSIONERS wishes to express their apprecia- <br />tion for this service being available to all citizens in <br />• the County by recognizing the week of September 17 <br />through 23, 1995 as <br />NATIONAL ADULT DAY CARE CENTER WEEK <br />in Indian River County, and <br />BE IT FURTHER PROCLAIMED, that this proclamation be spread in full <br />on the minutes of this meeting, and a copy be given to <br />the Indian River County Council on Aging. <br />Adopted this 19 day of September, 1995. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY CONMISSIONERS <br />INDIAN IVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />2 <br />enneth R.
