County Administrator <br />Kevin Kirwin, Director Parks & Recreation <br />From: Beth Powell, Assistant Director Parks & Conservation Resources <br />Subject: Hallstrom Farmstead Conservation Area Public Use Improvements - <br />Amendment No.1 and 2 to Work Order No. 18 <br />DESRIPTIONS AND CONDITIONS <br />On August 18, 2020, the Board of County Commissioners approved Work Order Number 18 to MBV <br />Engineering, Inc. (MBV) in the amount of $56,450 for the engineering and architectural services <br />including pre-bid and bidding assistance, cost estimation, and construction services for the public use <br />improvements at the Hallstrom Farmstead Conservation Area. During the course of design and <br />engineering, additional work tasks were deemed necessary in order to obtain Major Site Plan <br />Approval with the County and to provide additional support for staff through the bid process and <br />throughout construction. The work proposed under Amendment Number 1 is related to a Land and <br />Water Conservation Grant awarded to the County to provide public use improvements including <br />parking, walking trails, and pavilions. Amendment Number 2 provides for necessary survey, design, <br />engineering, and construction services associated with a required sidewalk on the east side of Old <br />Dixie Highway identified as a requirement during the Major Site Plan Approval process (Application <br />Number 90342). The sidewalk has been separated as it is not a part of the scope of work associated <br />with the Land and Water Conservation Fund grant. These tasks are outlined in Amendment Number <br />1 and Amendment Number 2 and are summarized below: <br />Amendment Number 1 <br />Amendment Number 1 provides for landscape plans required by the County for Major Site Plan <br />Approval and project management assistance including weekly progress meetings, review of work <br />schedules, coordination with the architect for required inspections and plan clarifications during <br />construction, coordination of shop drawing reviews, review of pay requests, and assistance with <br />change order requests. Further, MBV will provide construction oversight including regular <br />construction observation/inspections and testing. The fee for the work detailed in Amendment <br />Number 1 is $42,300.00 as outlined in the attached Scope of Work and pursuant to the Continuing <br />Consulting Engineering Services Agreement for Professional Services dated April 17, 2018, REQ <br />2018008. 73- <br />
