03/08j2022 <br />The easement issue is at an impasse <br />• Staff continues to reach out to property owners to obtain easements <br />• Very little chance that the County will obtain enough easements to <br />make the project viable. <br />Additionally, staff has been unable to locate property that could be <br />used for construction or purchased for public access to the Sector 7 <br />beach, thereby substantivally increasing the cost for the project even if <br />easements are obtained. <br />c�'ill�f■f; + nd S ■k � � es ' se,,,u on. <br />jb <br />t � R rva,,t <br />Advi■■ e <br />s'ory, C <br />County staff presented the Sector 7 easement status information to the members <br />of the Indian River County Beach and Shore Preservation Advisory Committee <br />(BSPAC) on a 2/28/22 regularly scheduled meeting. <br />• BSPAC submitted a recommendat:.on to the BCC to pursue Option 2 — the <br />postponement of the project for another year so that staff can continue to pursue <br />easement agreements on the hold-out properties, with the understanding that a <br />negative response may be received on requests made to extend the deadlines for <br />funding made available for this praject. <br />
