Proclamation <br />DESIGNATING APRIL 2022 AS <br />WATER CONSERVATION MONTH <br />-Whereas, water is a basic and essential need of every living creature; and <br />-Whereas, The State of Florida. Water Management Districts and Indian River County are <br />working together to increase awareness about the importance of water conservation through various <br />educational programs, community events and improving stormwater and wastewater treatment; and <br />-Whereas, Indian River County and the State of Florida have designated April, typically a dry <br />month when water demands are most acute, as Florida's Water Conservation Month, to educate <br />citizens about how they can help save Florida's precious water resources; and <br />-Whereas, all water users including commercial, industrial, agricultural, institutional, <br />hospitality, private citizens, and others can make positive contribution to reduce water use and <br />protect our water resources; and <br />Whereas, the majority of Florida's drinking water is supplied by underground aquifers, and <br />our quality of life and economy depend upon a clean and healthy environment; and <br />-Whereas, Indian River County is calling upon each individual and business to help protect <br />our precious resource by practicing water saving measures and becoming more aware of the need <br />to save water. <br />Naw, Therefore, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River <br />County that April 2022 be designated as WATER CONSERVATION MONTH in Indian River County, <br />and all citizens are encouraged to use this occasion to increase their awareness of the importance <br />of Water Conservation and the need to use Water more efficiently. <br />Adopted this 19th day of April, 2022 BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />Peter D.
