BOOK 96 PAGE 340 <br />Community Development Director Bob Keating stated that staff <br />generally agrees with Mr. Hedin, but we spend time and effort and <br />there is a cost. We would like to eliminate duplication and look <br />at the possibility of getting delegation in the future. <br />Mr. Hedin advised that he was one of the first to go to St. <br />Johns with the proposal that the mitigation money be kept in Indian <br />River County. <br />Commissioner Adams thanked Mr. Hedin for his efforts in having <br />the money go to the Environmental Learning Center. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Adams, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Tippin, to direct staff to further <br />investigate the costs/benefits of obtaining State <br />DER delegation and the opportunity of consolidating <br />environmental review permits. <br />Commissioner Tippin wondered why the SJRWMD's permitting <br />records were not good enough for Indian River County, and Mr. <br />DeBlois stated that staff would be looking into it. <br />Commissioner Adams understood that our primary concern is to <br />make sure that there is no net loss of wetlands to the county. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION.
