• <br />RESOLUTION NO.70-30 <br />WHEREAS, the Indian River County Zoning Commission, at the <br />• <br />request of the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />has been working on proposed changes to the Zoning Regulations of Indian <br />• <br />River County, and <br />WHEREAS, one of said proposed changes restricts the Zoning <br />Districts in which mobile homes, trailers, campers and modular homes <br />may be located, and <br />WHEREAS, in the past ,year, the number of trailer or mobile <br />home permits granted in the county has increased 400%, and <br />WHEREAS, there are many suitable and approved locations for <br />trailer or mobile horne living outside the zoned residantiai areas of the <br />County, and <br />WIfEftEAS, the Board 4 Count,; Commissioners desires to prurnote <br />the health, safety and Wo!rivral vn•lfatry of thr, cittvens of frith. -In River County, <br />desires to prevent a disprc-jmrtiorintr• hwh ratio of to permanent <br />residents, desires to redura overrrosdtn.V, dvsirv, to prevent the construction <br />of defective and nnsanitatry buildings, desires to prurnote the development of <br />Indian Iliver County for, perrnatnr-tit horne ownf-rs. (4-;ires to protect property <br />values and conserve the values of buildings, desires to enrotiragu the most <br />appropriate use of land, and <br />WHEREAS, pending the passage of the new County Zoning Ordinance, <br />the status quo should be preserved in so far as it is possible to do so, <br />TilEI I;PORE, BE IT RhSOI.VE.I) by the Board of County Commissioners <br />of Indian River County, that public hearings shall be held as soon as possible <br />on the proposed zoning changes and after September 1, 1970 and until the new <br />County Zoning Ordinance is approved, no further trailer, mobile home or <br />modular home permits will be granted for occupancy in R-1, R -IA, R -2A, <br />R-2, R -3A, R-3, R-213. For the purpose of this Resolution, "mobile home, <br />trailer -camper and modular homes" are defined as a single or multiple family <br />
