t <br />On Motion made by Commissioner Loy, seconded by Commissioner <br />Massey, the following Resolution was unanimously adopted: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 71-46 <br />i <br />WHEREAS, ARTICLE VIII, Section 1, Constitution of the State of <br />Florida, provides that there shall be one County Commissioner in each <br />of the five County Commissioner's districts in each county, which districts <br />shall be numbered one to five, inclusive, and shall be as nearly as possible <br />equal in proportion to population, and requires that the Board of County <br />Commissioners in the respective counties shall from time to time fix <br />the boundaries of such districts; and, <br />WHEREAS, the increase and shift in population of Indian River County, <br />Florida, which have taken place since 1961 have caused certain of the <br />county commissioner's districts of said county to become larger in pro- <br />portion to population than other of the county commissioner's districts of <br />said county, by reason of which it is now necessary to fix the boundaries <br />of the county commissioner's districts in said county to the end that all <br />five districts shall be as nearly as possible equal in proportion to popula- <br />tion; and <br />WHEREAS, the members of this Board, who are present at this <br />meeting of this Board, have agreed unanimously on the fixing of boundaries <br />of the county commissioner's districts of Indian River County, Florida, as <br />is evidenced by this resolution, now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED, that the boundaries of the county commissioner's <br />districts of Indian River County, Florida, be and the same are hereby <br />fixed, effective immediately, as follows and with each of said districts <br />numbered as follows: <br />look 1 f+ s[3 39 <br />6> <br />
