• , N 71-49 <br />` WHEREAS, under the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of <br />1968 as amended, there have been issued regulations for dispensing approved <br />project funds through various units of local government as subgrantees for <br />the administration of such approved projects; and <br />WHEREAS, under said regulations, the Board of County Commissioners <br />of Polk County has been named Subgrantee under an approved project for <br />improvement in detection and apprehension of criminals, to wit: Regional <br />Police Communications Equipment; and <br />WHEREAS, Lieutenant Don Neal of the Polk County Sheriff's Office <br />has been designated Project Director of said project; and <br />WHEREAS, said project includes the furnishing of certain law enforce- <br />ment equipment and/or services to Indian River County , <br />hereinafter called the "RECIPIENT"; and <br />WHEREAS, regulations issued by the Governor's Council on Criminal <br />Justice of Florida require a supporting resolution from the governing body <br />of the RECIPIENT as a condition for the funding of said equipment and/or <br />services, <br />NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners, <br />Indian River County Florida in regular session duly assembled, as <br />follows: <br />1. That the project generally described above is in the best interests <br />of the RECIPIENT and the general public. <br />2. That the Board of County Commissioners of Polk County as Sub- <br />grantee and Lieutenant Don Neal of the Polk County Sheriff's office as Project <br />Director are authorized to act in behalf of the RECIPIENT in implementing <br />said project. <br />3. That, if equipment or services are received by the RECIPIENT in <br />accordance with said project, the Sheriff of Indian River County is <br />hereby designated as the authorized representative of the RECIPIENT for the <br />purpose of furnishing to the Subgrantee and the Project Director such infor- <br />mation, data, and documents pertaining to the project as may be required, and <br />otherwise to act as the authorized representative of the RECIPIENT in connec- <br />tion with said project. <br />DATED this _18th day of_August 1971. <br />Book 1.4 i A .!364 iy <br />
