Proclamation Designating November, 1995 as Epilepsy Awareness Month <br />II PROCLAMATION <br />Epilepsy affects more than 2.5 million Americans; and <br />WHEREAS, epilepsy is the most common neurological disorder of <br />childhood; and <br />WHEREAS, epilepsy is still a serious problem that.can only be <br />solved by ongoing research; and <br />WHEREAS, supportive programs and services must continue to be <br />provided while scientists search for more effective <br />therapies and an ultimate cure; and <br />WHEREAS, help from individuals, business organizations and <br />foundations is vitally important in maintaining <br />national research programs and services provided by <br />Epilepsy Services of Southeast Florida for individuals <br />and families struggling with epilepsy's effects: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE INDIAN RIVER COUNTY BOARD <br />OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS that the month of November, <br />1995 be designated as — <br />EPILEPSY AWARENESS MONTH <br />in Indian River County, and the Board further urges all <br />citizens in this county to support the local scientific <br />community, health professionals, and epilepsy staff and <br />volunteers working to improve the lives of people with** <br />epilepsy. <br />Adopted this 24 day of October, 1995. <br />,BOARD OF COUNTY CDNMSSIONERS <br />nwiA RIVER Comm, FLORIDA <br />�/���_�n <br />eth Nacht, Cha <br />B.
