RESOLUTION NO. 72-57 <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County Ordinance No. 72-7 <br />relating to Indian River County animals, requires the <br />vaccination, certification and tagging of certain dogs; <br />authorizes the Board of County Commissioners of Indian <br />River County, Florida, to cause certain animals to be <br />impounded, examined and disposed of; and makes cerain <br />conduct with respect to animals and impounding officers, <br />agents, and employees unlawful; and <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County Ordinance No. 72-7 <br />authorizes and empowers the Board of County Commissioners <br />of Indian River County, Florida, to acquire, maintain, and <br />operate facilities for the care and disposition of animals, <br />either upon its own part or by entering into a contract <br />therefor with any non-profit corporation in said County <br />owning or operating such a facility or service; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of <br />Indian River County, Florida, has entered into a contract with <br />the Humane Society of Vero Beach, Inc., a non-profit corp- <br />oration, whereby said Soceity has agreed to provide facilities <br />and render services to said County for the compensation set <br />forth therein; and <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County Ordinance No. 72-7 <br />authorizes the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River <br />County, Florida, to designate impounding officers and to <br />adopt and enforce rules and regulations carrying out the <br />purpose of said Ordinance, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County <br />Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida: <br />1. Between January 1st. and April 30 0£ each year <br />every such owner or keeper shall cause every such dog as <br />�h described in Indian River County Ordinance No. 72-7 <br />-36- <br />
