Board of County Commissioners Meeting Minutes - Final May 3, 2022 <br />Attachments: Staff Report <br />Timothy Rose Contracting Inc Cost Estimate <br />Approved staffs recommendation <br />8.M. 22-0351 Resolution Cancelling Taxes on Various Properties <br />Recommended Action: <br />Authorize the Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners to execute the <br />Resolutions to cancel certain taxes upon the properties purchased by Indian River <br />County for a public purpose, and the Clerk to send a certified copy of the <br />Resolutions to the Tax Collector and the Property Appraiser so that any delinquent <br />or current taxes can be cancelled. <br />Attachments: Staff Report <br />Resolution Cancelling Taxes Calvin Arnold Bethel, Jr. <br />Resolution Cancelling Taxes Lipfert <br />Resolution Cancelling Taxes Pamela Ellen Ryall Morris <br />Resolution Cancelling Taxes Secure Boat <br />Resolution Cancelling Taxes Van Antwerp <br />Approved Resolutions 2022-020 (Bethel), 2022-021 (Lipfert), 2022-022 (Ryall Morris), <br />2022-023 (Secure Boat & RV), and 2022-024 (VanAntwerp), cancelling certain taxes <br />upon publicly owned lands, pursuant to Section 196.28, Florida Statutes. <br />8.N. 22-0333 American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 - Supplemental Housing Assistance Rehab and <br />Purchase (SHARP) Program funding formula adjustment. <br />Recommended Action: Staff recommends that the Board of County Commissioners approve the proposed <br />SHARP funding formula adjustment. <br />Attachments: Staff Report <br />Approved SHARP program summary Sheet <br />Proposed revision Summary Sheet <br />Chairman O'Bryan relayed a constituent's experience trying to secure Supplemental <br />Housing Assistance Rehab and Purchase (SHARP) program funds for an <br />emergency home repair. Assistant Community Development Director Andy <br />Sobczak provided confirmation to the Chairman that he would look into expediting <br />the process to obtain an emergency repair loan. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Flescher, seconded by Vice Chairman Earman, <br />to approve staff's recommendation, and direct staff to research ways to expedite the <br />process for emergency repair loan approval.
