66TH AVENUE RIGHT-OF-WAY ACQUISITION - METCALFE <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 11/6/95: <br />TO: James E. Chandler <br />County Administrator <br />THRoum James W. Finney, SRA -1, <br />County Right -of -Way Agent <br />SUBJECT: 66th Avenue Right -of -Way Acquisition; Parcel #19-33-39- <br />0100-10001.0 -- <br />DATE: November 6, 1995 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />Two additional right-of-way parcels are required on the west side <br />of 66th Avenue for the paving improvement project. <br />The property owner has executed a contract to sell the grove <br />property right-of-way t9 the county for $10,135.00. The right-of- <br />way parcel is 20' x 1,0041 or 26,081 square feet (.60 acre). The <br />purchase price is $16,892 per acre, which is the willing price the <br />other parcel owner has also agreed to. Although the price per acre <br />is the upper limit of value, :the county has recently purchased <br />grove properties on 1st Street SW at $.40 per square foot and on <br />58th Avenue in a range from $11,000 to $16,000 per acre. The <br />contract price is still less than additional costs for appraisal <br />fees, attorneys fees and Emminent Domain to acquire the necessary <br />additional right.of-way. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff requests the Board of County Commissioners approve the <br />$10,135.00 contract and authorize the Chairman to execute the <br />contract. <br />FUNDING <br />Funding to be from Account No. 109-214-541- <br />067,174. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Adams, the Board unanimously approved <br />the purchase of right-of-way from Virginia L. <br />Metcalfe in the amount of $10,135, as recommended by <br />staff. <br />CONTRACT IS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />19 BOOK 96 PA�,E �� <br />November 14, 1995 <br />
