Further, the Contractor agreed to a Lump Sum (LS) amount and an addition of sixty (60) days Contract time. There are many benefits to the redesign, including being able to accommodate future growth by being able to accommodate additional travel lanes. Other benefits include upgrading the bridge structure to the current FDOT Standards and changing from a prestressed/post tension single deck superstructure design to a prestressed Florida Slab Beam (FSB) design which decreases long-term maintenance costs & increases life of the structure. The net addition to the Contract will be $841,817.35, which includes pay item overruns, jobsite overhead and other indirect costs associated with the 60 -day time extension necessary to complete this work plus additional maintenance of traffic & erosion control for the additional 60 -day period.
