Further, the Contractor agreed <br />to a Lump Sum (LS) amount and an addition of sixty (60) days Contract time. There are many benefits <br />to the redesign, including being able to accommodate future growth by being able to accommodate <br />additional travel lanes. Other benefits include upgrading the bridge structure to the current FDOT <br />Standards and changing from a prestressed/post tension single deck superstructure design to a <br />prestressed Florida Slab Beam (FSB) design which decreases long-term maintenance costs & increases <br />life of the structure.
