Zito, Assistant County Administrator <br />Kristin Daniels, Director, Office of Management and Budget <br />From: Kevin Kirwin, Director, Parks and Recreation Department <br />Subject: Amendment No. 1, Work Order Number 27, — Continuing Engineering Services <br />RFP 2018008 — Dick Bird Park Pickleball Courts <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On April 17, 2018, the Board of County Commissioners ("Board") approved Continuing Consulting <br />Engineering Services Agreements for RFQ 2018008 between Indian River County and Kimley-Horn <br />and Associates, Inc. <br />On May 14, 2019, staff presented a report to the Board on Pickleball in Indian River County. During <br />this item, the Board passed a motion to reallocate $50,000 from FY 21-22 to FY 19-20 in the Capital <br />Improvement Element (CIE). On November 5, 2019, the Board Approved Work Order Number 27 to <br />Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc., to provide for project program and analysis, site planning, <br />construction documents, permitting and an engineer's construction estimate for a pickleball court <br />facility at Richard N. "Dick" Bird Park. <br />Amendment Number 1 to Work Order Number 27 provides for costs necessary to prepare staff <br />requested changes to the erosion control and demolition plan, site plan, paving and grading plan and <br />the landscape and irrigation plan. These changes were necessary in order to meet ensure that the <br />pickleball court complex would not encroach on designated scrub jay habitat. <br />Upon completion of the tasks detailed in this amendment and receipt of the requested changes staff <br />will commence the preparation and solicitation of the construction bids for this project. <br />FUNDING: <br />Funding for Amendment Number 1 to Work Order Number 27 in the amount of $3,800 is budgeted <br />and available in the Impact Fees/Parks/Pickleball Complex South County Park account, number <br />10321072-066510-20002.
