D <br />RESOLUTION No7- -13_ <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County, Florida, is critically short of <br />motor fuel due to the national energy crisis, and allocations for Indian <br />River County have been made by the Federal Energy Office without <br />considering the rapid growth of the county, its increased agricultural <br />acreage or its increased amount of tourists, and <br />WHEREAS, it is imperative that the non-essential use of motor <br />fuel be decreased in order to insure availability of motor fuel for essential <br />services, and <br />WHEREAS, the saving of motor fuel can be accomplished through <br />the help and cooperation of all Indian River County citizens, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that it requests <br />all citizens to reduce the amount of non-essential motor fuel used by: <br />1. Not using their automobiles unless absolutely necessary. <br />2. Not buying motor fuel until their tanks are down to 1/2 <br />of a tank or less. <br />3. Buying motor fuel only in the afternoons so that essential <br />service vehicles may fill up in the mornings. <br />4. Forming car pools for driving to work, for buying groceries, <br />shopping, picking up mail, transportation of children, recreational activities <br />and any other trips requiring the use of an automobile. <br />5. Using only one automobile in a two automobile family. <br />6.
