Brown, County Administrator <br />THROUGH: Tad Stone, Director <br />Department of Emergency Services <br />FROM: Erin Sawyer, Staff Assistant IV <br />Department of Emergency Services <br />DATE: June 15, 2022 <br />SUBJECT: Approval of Second Renewal of Second Amendment of Property Lease for <br />Temporary Location of Fire Station #7 <br />It is respectfully requested that the information contained herein be given formal consideration by the <br />County Administrator. <br />DESCRIPTION: <br />On June 23, 2015, Joseph G. Miller and Indian River County entered into a lease agreement for the <br />use of the property located at 1893 90th Avenue, Vero Beach, Florida to serve as a short-term <br />location for modular Fire -Rescue Station #7. On May 2, 2017, an Amendment to the Lease <br />Agreement was approved reflecting St. Lucie County Battery and Tire Company as the Lessor on the <br />agreement. The initial term on the lease agreement was 24 months with the option to renew for 3 <br />additional one (1) year terms. On June 11, 2019, the County utilized the final one (1) year extension <br />and the lease expired on June 18, 2020. On August 18, 2020, the Board approved a second <br />amendment and renewal of the property lease with the option to renew for 3 additional one (1) year <br />terms. On July 6, 2021, the Board renewed the lease agreement for the first one (1) year term. The <br />current lease is due to expire on June 18, 2022 and at this time, staff is requesting to extend the lease <br />for an additional one (1) year term. The monthly lease amount will be $1,125.50. <br />($13,506.00/annually), an increase of 3% over the previous rate of $1,092.72 ($13,112.64/annually). <br />FUNDING: <br />Funding for the property lease is budgeted and available in the Emergency Services District/Fire <br />Rescue/Rent-Land Account in the amount of $13,506.00. <br />ACCOUNT NAME ACCOUNT NUMBER AMOUNT <br />Emergency Services District/Fire Rescue/Rent-Land 1 11412022-034410 $13,506.00 <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends approval of the second renewal of property lease. <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />Second Renewal to Second Amendment of Lease Agreement <br />122 <br />
