• Officers of the Florida Fish and Wildlife <br />Conservation Commission or of a law <br />enforcement agency investigate derelict vessels <br />in accordance with section 823.11. <br />• (b) Derelict vessels are defined as left, <br />stored or abandoned: <br />1. In a wrecked, junked or substantially <br />dismantled condition upon any public <br />waters of this state. <br />2. At a port in this state without the <br />consent of the agency having <br />jurisdiction thereof. <br />3. Docked, grounded, or beached upon <br />the property of another without the <br />consent of the owner of the property. <br />• Due process outlined in Section <br />705.103(2). <br />• A reasonable effort is made to <br />locate and notify the owner. <br />• Notice of derelict status placed <br />upon the vessel. <br />• FWC officer will issue a letter of <br />authorization after the 21 day hold <br />period has ended. <br />• The owner is responsible for <br />associated costs of removal. <br />• Hold on title registrations in Florida. <br />06/0/72022 <br />211. 2 <br />
