O'Bryan, Chairman <br />14.A.1 22-0468 Request for Board to give direction to staff to work with City of Vero Beach <br />(COVB) and Town of Indian River Shores (IRS) on establishing "Anchoring <br />Limitation Areas" in the Indian River Lagoon. <br />Recommended Action: Discussion & Staff Direction <br />attachments: Memorandum - Anchoring Limitation Areas <br />Clean Water Coalition Correspondence <br />Florida Statute 327.4108 <br />Email Correspondence - Jessica Crawford, FWC <br />Chairman O'Bryan requested the Board's support to direct staff to apply for an <br />Anchoring Limitation Area (ALA) which would limit live -aboard boaters to a <br />maximum of 45 days every 6 months within a specified area of the lagoon. He <br />noted that the ALA would require coordination with the City of Vero Beach and <br />the Town of Indian River Shores, both of which supported the idea. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Flescher, seconded by Chairman <br />O'Bryan, to approve directing staff to work with the City of Vero Beach and <br />the Town of Indian River Shores to establish Anchoring Limitation Areas in <br />the Indian River Lagoon.
