RESOLUTION NO. 87- 34 <br />40 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, PROVIDING FOR THE <br />ADOPTION OF THE GIFFORD SMALL AREA PLAN AND PRECISE <br />® LAND USE MAP WHICH PROVIDES A GENERAL GUIDELINE FOR <br />FUTURE DEVELOPMENT IN THE GIFFORD AREA; AND PROVIDING <br />FOR EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commi.ssioenrs of Indian River <br />County has adopted a Comprehensive Land Use Plan, Ordinance <br />#82-21, pursuant to Chapter 163 of the Florida Statutes; and <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 163 of the Florida Statutes requires that <br />all future development be consistent with the County's adopted <br />Comprehensive Land Use Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Department staff has worked with the <br />Gifford community during the past fourteen months to formulate a <br />small area plan for the Gifford area; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission has held a public <br />hearing concerning the Gifford Small Area Plan and Precise Land <br />Use Map at which parties in interest and citizens were allowed to <br />speak; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission voted unanimously <br />to recommend approval of the Gifford Small Area Plan and Precise <br />Land Use Map; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has held a public <br />hearing concerning the Gifford Small Area Plan and Precise Land <br />Use Map at which parties in interest and citizens were allowed to <br />speak; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County <br />Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida: <br />1. That the foregoing recitals are adopted and ratified in <br />their entirety. <br />2. That the attached Small Area Plan and Precise Land Use Map <br />will be used as a general guide to future zoning and development <br />in the Gifford area. <br />The foregoing resolution was offered by Commissioner <br />Eggert who moved its adoption.
