RESOLUTION NO. 87_4S <br />A RESOLUTION OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, <br />APPROVING THE SUBMITTAL OF AN APPLICATION <br />UNDER THE STATE OF FLORIDA BEACH EROSION <br />CONTROL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County and private property owners <br />within the County have had damage to structures and/or coastal <br />lands by storms and erosion, and <br />WHEREAS, the State of Florida has established a Beach Erosion <br />Control Assistance Program providing for financial assistance for <br />erosion control and preservation of the sandy beaches within the <br />State. <br />NOW THEREFORE., BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County <br />Commissioners of Indian River County, as follows: <br />1. The County, as local sponsor, hereby approves the submittal <br />of an application under the Beach Erosion Control Assistance <br />Program for the purpose of requesting State financial assistance <br />with the implementation of a County Beach Restoration program <br />similar to that proposed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. <br />2. The County hereby designates Michael Walther, P. E. of <br />Coastal Technology Corporation, as the Project Engineer and Agent <br />for the purpose of preparing and processing this application on <br />behalf of the County. <br />3. The County agrees to provide the local share of costs for <br />implementation of the beach restoration program under the <br />procedures set forth in the Florida Administrative Code. <br />The foregoing resolution was offered by Commissioner <br />Eggert and seconded by Commissioner Wheeler and, being <br />Put to a vote, the vote was as follows: <br />Chairman Don C.
