5/87(Resol)UTIL(Pa) <br />40 RESOLUTION NO. 87- 48 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, AMENDING <br />40 RESOLUTION 82-51, AS AMENDED BY RESOLUTIONS <br />86-23, 86-31 AND 86-114, WHICH NEW AMENDMENT WILL <br />AUTHORIZE A RESIDENTIAL RATE T,(REASE FOR RURAL <br />SANITATION, INC. OF $3.58 PER MONTH. <br />WHEREAS, Rural Sanitation notified the Utility Department <br />in writing, as required by Resolution 82-51, Section 14, of a <br />requested increase in its residential rates and submitted <br />'leJustification; and <br />WHEREAS, the Utility Services Department has reviewed Rural <br />Sanitation's request and recommends that the requested breakeven <br />amount of $3.04 be allowed, with a 5% profit increase of $0.54, <br />instead of the requested 10% profit, with the understanding that <br />within one year Rural Sanitation may return, and, after showing that <br />they have operated in a prudent and efficient manner, request an <br />additional 5% profit increase; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that effective with <br />the next billing cycle, that Rural Sanitation Service is authorized <br />to increase its rates by $3.58 per month per residential customer so <br />that the original residential charge per month will be increased as <br />follows: <br />$7.90 - Original Residential Charge Per Month <br />3.58 - Increase <br />$11.48 - TOTAL <br />The foregoing resolution was offered by Commissioner <br />Bowman who moved its adoption. The motion was seconded by <br />Commissioner _ Wheeler and, upon being put to a vote, the <br />vote was as follows: <br />Chairman Don C. Scurlock, Jr. Aye <br />Vice -Chairman Margaret C.
