40
generated through the use of a voluntary contribution of
I $25.00 per Equivalent Residential Unit (ERU) received by the
County from many property owners interested in North County
sewer service.
The County has stressed that connection to the proposed
sewer system will be voluntary and no one will be forced to
connect, unless the lack of connection will result in a
health problem.
This study and report will determine the necessary
i
recommended sewer facilities and their cost estimate to
I
i
implement. Our office has prepared a separate report
entitled "Property Assessments Roll for Indian River County
Project #US86-22-AR" dated February, 1987. The Property
Assessment Roll contains project information which relates to
the funding available to cover the project costs. It is
anticipated that Indian River County will proceed with
engineering and construction of the facilities deemed
feasible as a result of the findings in this study and report
and the "Property Assessment Roll" through the use of the
financing partnership between the County and private sector
so successfully utilized on the two recent Route 60 corridor
water and sewer project.
-5-
