Division 1— General Requirements, IRC -2204 <br />SECTION 01630 - SUBSTITUTIONS <br />1.1 GENERAL <br />A. Requests for review of a substitution shall conform to the requirements of Article 6.05, <br />"Substitutes and Or -Equals," of the General Conditions, and shall contain complete data <br />substantiating compliance of the proposed substitution with the Contract Documents. <br />1.2 CONTRACTOR'S OPTIONS <br />A. For materials or equipment (hereinafter products) specified only by reference standard, <br />select product meeting that standard by any manufacturer, fabricator, supplier or <br />distributor (hereinafter manufacturer). To the maximum extent possible, provide <br />products of the same generic kind from a single source. <br />B. For products specified by naming several products or manufacturers, select any one of <br />the products or manufacturers named which complies with Specifications. <br />C. For products specified by naming one or more products or manufacturers and stating "or <br />equivalent," submit a request for a substitution for any product or manufacturer which <br />is not specifically named. <br />D. For products specified by naming only one product or manufacturer and followed by <br />words indicating that no substitution is permitted, there is no option and no substitution <br />will be allowed. <br />E. Where more than one choice is available as a CONTRACTOR's option, select product <br />which is compatible with other products already selected or specified. <br />I SUBSTITUTIONS <br />A. During a period of 15 days after date of commencement of Contract Time, ENGINEER will <br />consider written requests from CONTRACTOR for substitution of products or manufac- <br />turers, and construction methods (if specified). <br />1. After end of specified period, requests will be considered only in case of <br />unavailability of product or other conditions beyond control of CONTRACTOR. <br />B. Submit 5 copies of Request for Substitution. Submit a separate request for each <br />substitution. In addition to requirements set forth in Article 6.05 of General Conditions, <br />include in the request the following: <br />1. For products or manufacturers: <br />a. Product identification, including manufacturer's name and address. <br />b. Manufacturer's literature with product description, performance and test <br />data, and reference standards. <br />c.
