Provide the mission statement and vision of your organization: <br />fission Statement <br />- <br />11!it God's guidance, the Gifford Youth Achievement Center creates educational, cultural and social <br />pportunities that enhance the lives of the youth and families we serve." <br />Vision: <br />"Where lives are changed and goals are attained." <br />2. Provide a brief summary of your organization, including areas of expertise, accomplishments and o ulation served. <br />Organization: The Gifford Youth Achievement Center (GYAC) is a 501 (c)(3) organization that opened its <br />doors in 1998. Its sole purpose is to enhance the academic achievement of children in Indian River <br />County. A diverse volunteer Board of Directors governs the GYAC. <br />For over 20 years, GYAC has provided programs and services to vulnerable, economically disadvantaged <br />youth in grades K -12. In addition, GYAC serves adults and senior citizens by offering health screenings, <br />aerobic exercises, health and wellness workshops, in addition to cultural and recreational activities. <br />Areas of expertise include teachers and tutors, a guidance counselor, volunteers, and recreational <br />support staff. Partners provide specific programmatic expertise in areas that include social, cultural and <br />recreational activities. <br />GYAC's accomplishments include the Executive Director being named the Junior League of Indian River <br />2020 Woman of the Year Civic/Non-Profit Professional, awarded the 2010 United Way of Indian River <br />County Agency Excellence Award winner, the 2005 Outstanding Florida Minority Education Community <br />Organization award, and the Hillary Rodham Clinton Millennium Green Project Award in 1999. <br />GYAC celebrates its 25th Anniversary in 2023. <br />3.
