Do these programs utilize volunteers? If yes, please briefly describe. <br />MHA used volunteers in multiple facets throughout the agency. Our board of directors are all volunteers. <br />A Board member serves as Chair for committees, which meet monthly and report to the Board. <br />Community volunteers serve as members of our board subcommittees including Philanthropy, Program <br />and Client Services, and Marketing/Communications. These committees play vital roles in fundraising, <br />agency policy and operations. Philanthropy Committee plans MHA special events and recruits additional <br />volunteers to assist with event tasks. MHA is a host agency for Senior Community Service Employment <br />Program (SCSEP) which trains low-income seniors to enter the workforce. MHA has hired two SCSEP <br />volunteers. We continue to be a training site for the placement of SCSEP seniors. Members at our peer - <br />run Drop -In centers can volunteer time in the centers, helping themselves while connecting to others. <br />We also provide hours for high school students as well as internship programs through Indian River State <br />College and other Accredited Colleges. <br />r. uescrr tion of the count wide purpose the funds will be used for. <br />County funds are used to: <br />-Continue our walk -In, immediate access services (mental health screenings, crisis support, <br />consultation with loved ones, consultation with loved ones about the mental health needs of a child or <br />family members, urgent case management, assistance with resources and linking to care, and mental <br />health support) to Indian River County residents free of charge; <br />-Support needed mental health services for veterans, children, teenagers and first responders in need <br />lacking resources and/or ability to access care; <br />-Continue our free community Mood and Anxiety support group; <br />-Assist with our expansion of sliding fee to give uninsured residents of Indian River County in need <br />affordable access to ongoing mental health care; and <br />waiving of fees for those who cannot afford copayments for needed mental health services <br />120 <br />
