�5 <br />ProcCamatto'on a k <br />HONORING LIEUTENANT FIRE INSPECTOR SANDRA SEELEY <br />UPON THE OCCASION OF HER RETIREMENT FROM INDIAN RIVER COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF EMERGENCY SERVICES FIRE PREVENTION BUREAU <br />'Whereas, on June 22, 1987, Sandra Seeley was hired by the South Indian River County Fire District as <br />a Word Processor/Input Operator with her first employee review reflecting exemplary work and by Sept. <br />3, 1988 she was promoted to a Secretary 1 position; and, <br />-Whereas, due to her documented work ethic and quality output, a new position was created and on <br />September 29, 1989 she was promoted and became Fire Prevention's first full time assistant wherein <br />she devised strategies that quickly enhanced workflow organization and productivity of the department; <br />and, <br />-Whereas, Sandra Seeley continued to learn everything about her position and on her own time and <br />expense obtained her certifications as a Fire Inspector and on October 5, 1990 as a Firefighter, which <br />made her the first woman to have achieved either distinction in the history of the County; and, <br />-Whereas, on July 15, 1994 she was promoted to Fire Prevention Inspector, and by February 14, 2003 <br />she earned the title of Lieutenant Fire Inspector in which capacity she has served until her retirement on <br />July 31, 2022; and, <br />'-Whereas, Sandra Seeley was lauded in review after review for being keenly aware of the goal of good <br />customer service, for being able to provide backup for all positions within the Fire Prevention department, <br />for being first to learn the latest techniques and computer programs and for willingly sharing her <br />knowledge and expertise with new employees; and, <br />^Whereas, Sandra Seeley excelled, not only in all aspects of her career but also in giving back to the <br />community with courage, generosity and energy in multiple ways and is best known for spending <br />decades as the secretary/treasurer of the Vero Beach Firefighters Association as well as the office <br />manager/treasurer for the annual Firefighters Fair which has supported our fire families, our residents <br />and local non-profit organizations whenever and wherever needed. <br />Now, Therefore, be it Proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Indian <br />River County, Foricfa, that the Board is grateful to Sandra Seeley for being a true example of an <br />employee who served our citizens with integrity, loyalty, commitment, compassion and pride for 35 years. <br />Be it Further Proclaimedthat the Board of County Commissioners and staff extend their sincerest <br />wishes for success in all her future endeavors. <br />Adopted this 13th day of September 2022.
