Board of Commissioners SWDD Meeting Minutes - Final September 14, 2022 <br />6. INDIAN RIVER COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS SITTING AS SOLID <br />WASTE DISPOSAL DISTRICT BOARD <br />The Board of County Commissioners reconvened as the Board of Commissioners <br />of the Solid Waste Disposal District. The minutes will be approved at an <br />upcoming meeting. <br />22-0707 Solid Waste Disposal District Budget (Non -Ad Valorem Special District) <br />Attachments: SWDD <br />Chairman O'Bryan disclosed that the Fiscal Year (FY) 2022-2023 Solid Waste Disposal <br />District (SWDD) proposed budget is $22,142,998. <br />The FY 2022-2023 proposed charges and Budget for the SWDD were outlined by <br />Chairman O'Bryan as follows: <br />A. Announce 2022/2023 Proposed Charge and Budget <br />$92.18 per Residential Waste Generation Unit ($147.49/House) <br />(8.75% increase from current year) <br />$55.19 per Commercial Waste Generation Unit <br />(15.85% increase from current year) <br />Readiness -to -Use Fee $32.84 <br />(11.28% increase from current year) <br />2. $22,142,998 Budget <br />Chairman O'Bryan opened the public hearing. There being no speakers, the <br />Chairman closed the hearing. <br />Chairman O'Bryan received confirmation from County Administrator Jason Brown <br />that the County received notification St. Lucie County Facilities would resume <br />accepting the recycles. <br />Commissioner Flescher felt the County should look into hiring a company or <br />working with the Sheriffs Department to restart the Trustee's program to clear the <br />roadways of debris and litter. A discussion followed and Administrator Brown <br />stated he would have staff bring some options back to the Board in the near future. <br />A motion was made by Vice Chairman Earman, seconded by Commissioner Moss, <br />to approve the Solid Waste Disposal District rates of $92.18 per Residential Waste <br />Generation Unit ($147.49/House); $55.19 per Commercial Waste Generation Unit; and <br />a Readiness -to -Use Fee of $32.84 for the Solid Waste Disposal District (SWDD).
