ARTICLE 28 <br />ANNUAL LEAVE <br />28.01 Employees in the bargaining unit shall be entitled to accrue paid annual leave on the <br />following basis: <br />1. 132 hours vacation for shift employees - 75 hours vacation for non -shift employees <br />shall be earned each year for the first five (5) years of continuous employment <br />commencing with the anniversary date. <br />2. 192 hours vacation for shift employees 112.5 hours vacation for non -shift <br />employees shall be earned at the start of the sixth year of continuous employment <br />through the end of the tenth year of continuous employment. <br />3. For each additional year of continuous employment, employees shall earn an <br />additional day of vacation up to a maximum of 252 hours per year based on the <br />calculations below <br />CONTINUOUS EMPLOYMENT ANNUAL HOURS EARNED <br />28.02 For employees hired prior to May 25, 2015, 504 hours may be carried over from year to <br />year; and for employees hired on or after May 25, 2015, 360 hours may be carried over <br />from year to year; however, an employee shall not be allowed more than 360 hours annual <br />leave in a one-half (1/2) year period. <br />28.03 For employees hired prior to the beginning of the first pay period after Union ratification <br />and County approval of this Agreement, employer rules and regulations will apply <br />regarding notification and/or pay for annual leave earned above 500 hours.
