(FTL) provides several activities to address the needs <br />of children ages 6-14 with after school tutoring, counseling and one-on-one mentoring. The <br />program provides educational support services to parents and children in elementary through <br />middle school at two locations in Indian River County from September through May. <br />FTL's summer programming continues after school activities and adds supervised recreation. The <br />Summer Camp program was developed to improve scholastic abilities, build confidence and <br />reduce the number of children being left alone without parental or other custodial care. <br />The RRR (Respect, Responsibilities, and Rules) program provides mentoring for children ages <br />6-12 and teens ages 13-17. The activities teach respectful language and appropriate dress, <br />responsibilities, and living within the rules as well as good health and hygiene, financial <br />responsibility, and job seeking skills. Basic job readiness and job search activities will include <br />speakers from local businesses and role models to encourage and empower the teens and young <br />adults. <br />The PIE (Parents Improving Education) program assists parents with math, reading and <br />technology. Tutoring Activities are 90 -minute sessions held in the evenings. The goal is for <br />parents to increase their knowledge and learn how they can help their children with homework. <br />The projected number of unduplicated children to be served is eighty-eight (88); and twelve (12) <br />unduplicated adults. <br />
