Students scoring below the 50th percentile on the <br />iReady reading assessment qualify to attend this remediation and enrichment program. We know that <br />struggling readers need extra time that is well structured and includes targeted instruction to catch up <br />to their peers. Our program is a multi -faceted enriched literacy program that provides remediation, <br />additional time for mastery of academic content for struggling students, and enrichment that connects <br />learning concepts. Moonshot Academy currently serves 400+ K-3 students. The projected number of <br />unduplicated children to be served is four hundred seventy-five (475). <br />2 - Managed and staffed by expert Arts Literacy Educator, Bridget Lyons, the Moonshot Reading Rocket <br />is a mobile literacy lab that creates customized literacy experiences for children and families in Indian <br />River County. The Rocket partners with dozens of early childhood community organizations as well as <br />VPK and Pre -K programs. Working in the 0-5 space, Bridget brings engaging curriculum that builds <br />early literacy skills to our youngest learners through the Literacy in Action program. She engages with <br />families through working with the Moonshot Families Connection Centers and curates literacy rich <br />engagements throughout the community. The projected number of unduplicated children to be served <br />is two thousand, seven hundred twenty-one (2,721) and one thousand, three hundred sixty-one (1,361) <br />adults. <br />3 - Moonshot Families Programs and Connection Centers serve to partner with families in Gifford, <br />Fellsmere, and throughout IRC, and connect them to resources to ensure their children's developmental <br />and academic milestones are achieved. Our centers in Gifford and Fellsmere provide a physical space <br />and presence in those communities, however, Moonshot Families Programming serves all of Indian <br />River County. The projected number of unduplicated children to be served is three hundred eight (308) <br />and one hundred fifty-four (154) adults. <br />
