MHA's mental health professionals: <br />• Facilitate within area middle and high public schools, in collaboration with Substance <br />Awareness Center, Erika's Lighthouse psycho -educational intervention on depression <br />awareness and suicide prevention (and without SAC at Indian River Charter High School). <br />• Provide therapeutic intervention with students who request individual mental health assistance. <br />• Provide crisis intervention and mental health support to students in need of immediate <br />assistance to prevent harm to self/others and to restore stability and functioning. <br />• Provide ongoing mental health treatment services (individual/family therapy, group services, <br />psychiatric care) to effectively address the emotional and behavioral health needs of students <br />with diagnosable mental health concerns. <br />• Deliver critical incident support for traumatic events negatively affecting students, parents <br />and/or staff to restore disrupted functioning and assist with healing. <br />This program maximizes the number of IRC middle and high school students given the opportunity <br />to participate in needed mental health services, increasing their capabilities for positive <br />functioning and their access to needed care. Services are available for IRC students in grades 6- <br />12 and within IRC public, private and charter middle and high schools as well as in our outpatient <br />Walk -In & Counseling Center. The projected number of unduplicated children to be served is <br />three thousand (3,000). <br />
