CONSENT <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Honorable Board of County Commissioners <br />THROUGH: Jason Brown, County Administrator <br />THROUGH: David Johnson Director <br />Department of Emergency Services <br />FROM: Karen Rackard, Mapping Tech. <br />Department of Emergency Services <br />DATE: September 12, 2022 <br />SUBJECT: Approval of Renewal of the Public Safety Communications System FX Software <br />Services Agreement. <br />It is respectfully requested that the information contained herein be given formal consideration <br />by the Board of County Commissioners at the next scheduled meeting. <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS: <br />On August 16, 2016, the Board of County Commissioners approved the public safety radio <br />system P25 Migration Project. During the migration period, the county will be operating both the <br />EDACS and P25 radio systems concurrently to maintain a public safety level of service, stable <br />operations, and functionality until completion of the project. An integral part of the EDACS and <br />P25 system is the FX Software. <br />On September 11, 2018, the Board of County Commissioners approved Communications <br />International as a sole source for the public safety radio system FX Software Services. The FX <br />Software provides enhancements and corrections to public safety EDACS and P25 backbone and <br />radio components. It also assures the County that any new generation radios, hand-held or <br />mobile units, would seamlessly integrate into our communication network. The contract <br />provided for renewal or extension of the contract in one (1) year increments for a total of five (5) <br />years upon mutual consent of the parties. This base contract for services will expire on <br />September 30, 2022, and the proposed FY 2022/2023 contract renewal represents extension <br />number four (4) of the original contract. <br />The proposed FY 2022/2023 FX Software agreement will cover all necessary upgrades for the <br />P25 system. <br />FUNDING: <br />There is no change in cost between last fiscal year and next fiscal year.
