Prado, Assistant County Attorney <br />SNI <br />Public Hearings - B.C.C. 09.20.22 <br />Ofc of <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Board of County Commissioners <br />FROM: Dylan Reingold, County Attorney <br />DATE: September 13, 2022 <br />ATTORNEY <br />SUBJECT: Local Provider Participation Fund (LPPF) Assessment Resolution <br />BACKGROUND. <br />On September 14, 2021, the Indian River County Board of County Commissioners ("Board") voted to <br />enact an ordinance establishing a local provider participation fund (LPPF) to assist in local hospitals <br />covering unreimbursed Medicaid costs. The proposed assessment resolution and assessment roll for 2022 <br />includes the following payment schedule: <br />1) Cleveland Clinic Health System - $2,281,523 <br />2) Encompass Health - $216,606 <br />3) Steward Health Care System - $667,846 <br />Once collected, these funds, minus administrative costs if applicable, as identified in the LPPF ordinance, <br />will then, through intergovernmental transfers, be provided to the Florida Agency for Health Care <br />Administration ("AHCA"). Please note that the County will need to send a Letter of Agreement ("LOA") <br />to AHCA by October 1St <br />FUNDING. <br />The proposed assessment is on real properties <br />services.
