Prado, Assistant County Attorney <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Board of County Commissioners <br />FROM: Dylan Reingold- County Attorney <br />DATE: October 26, 2022 <br />SUBJECT: Resolution Cancelling Taxes on Property Purchased by the City of Fellsmere for <br />Public Purpose <br />A parcel of land was purchased by the City of Fellsmere ("City") and the City will be using the <br />property for right of way, a copy of the email from the City stating the purpose is attached. For <br />this reason, a resolution has been prepared for consideration by the Board for removing the <br />below recited property from the tax roll for ad valorem taxes for current and future years: <br />Public Purpose: Right of Way purposes <br />Location/Description: North side of CR 512 east of 127th Avenue <br />Purchased from: Hiers Properties, LLC <br />Instrument: Special Warranty Deed recorded in Book 3578, Page 926, <br />Public Records of Indian River County, Florida <br />FUNDING: <br />There is no cost associated with this item. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Authorize the Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners to execute the Resolution to <br />cancel certain taxes upon the property purchased by the City of Fellsmere for a public purpose, <br />and the Clerk to send a certified copy of the Resolution to the Tax Collector and the Property <br />Appraiser so that any delinquent or current taxes can be cancelled. <br />ATTACHMENT: <br />Resolution <br />cc: Carole Jean Jordan - Tax Collector <br />Wesley Davis - Property Appraiser 80 <br />
