® AMENDED RESOLUTION NO. 75-8 <br />A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 75-8, <br />SANCTIONING A CITY -COUNTY COORDINATING <br />® COMMITTEE FOR LOW AND MODERATE INCOME <br />HOUSING; ENUMERATING THE FUNCTIONS AND <br />AUTHORITY OF SAID COMMITTEE; APPOINTING <br />MEMBERS OF THE EXISTING TASK FORCE <br />® COMMITTEE FOR LOW COST HOUSING AS <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMMITTEE AND ADDING <br />TWO ADDITIONAL MEMBERS <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners <br />of Indian River County, Florida, that Resolution No. 75-8 <br />is hereby amended as follows: <br />WHEREAS, the need for the purchase or rental of low <br />cost housing in the City of Vero Beach and Indian River <br />County, Florida, is acute, resulting in extreme hardship <br />for low and medium income employees and their families, and <br />WHEREAS, the lack of low cost housing discourages <br />industry from locating in the City of Vero Beach and Indian <br />River County; and <br />WHEREAS, the economy of the aforementioned area <br />is experiencing a recession and a clear and present need <br />exists to stimulate the building industry, whereby jobs <br />would be created and a flow of money would be realised by <br />the business community; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vero Beach, <br />by Resolution No. 2590, established a Task Force Committee <br />for Low Cost Housing, the membership of which includes <br />a representative of each of the following agencies: The <br />Indian River County Commission; the Vero Beach City Council; <br />a commercial bank, a savings and loan association; the <br />Associated General Contractors; Piper Aircraft Company; the <br />Chamber of Commerce; the Board of Realtors; the Citrus Industry; <br />and the Hotel and Motel Industry; and <br />WHEREAS, the Task Force Committee for Low Cost Housing <br />as above mentioned, has met and voted to have the City of <br />Vero Beach and Indian River County, Florida pass resolutions <br />
